I needed copies of my child’s birth certificate which I paid for and requested through vital records. I got an e mail from vital records that my documents are ready at will call. I left work and went to the health department to pick them up and the doors were locked during business hours. This was 11/4 it was not a holiday. This is very frustrating when you pay for the records and you expect the other end to do their part. Why is it always a hassle to do anything with the state. Please do better!

Terrible customer service! The lady at the front office and birth/death certificate area are very rude and disrespectful!! They have signs up saying they can assist with soonercare but when I asked for it they told me there was no such thing as a sign that said that. They had to walk out and look at it themselves and were complaining that it shouldn’t be there. All they knew what to do was roll their eyes and not even let me ask a question because they’d talk over me! No one at the office answers the phone either!! This location wasn’t helpful at all and just full of ladies who don’t want to work (:

A county department should be able to update their website daily, especially when it comes to closures. We drove 45 minutes only to find out they were closed when the website said they were open.

Absolutely unacceptable. The website says it closes at 5pm. The hours on the door clearly state 5pm. But come to find out, in *reality* these bureaucrats shut things down at 4:45 NOT 5:00!!!! But of course, this was only revealed AFTER I go to all the trouble of driving across town, climbing 2 flights of stairs and walking clear across a huge building. Frustrating and maddening on its own but compounded by the fact that I’m disabled and that it was so physically demanding and exhausting to only find out I’ll have to do it all over again. Why even bother putting hours on the door or on the website if none of the departments adhere to that specified time? And no, having fine print which (meanlessly) states that the building closes 5, but each individual department within that building operates on its own esoteric schedule, and then blaming the citizenry for missing it is not acceptable. That is incompetence.

Went for a proof of pregnancy. It cost me $90 for a basic pregnancy test, and the "health professional" they made me have a consult with told me point blank that if I did not stop breastfeeding my 7mo old, that my fetus would die. I had zero risk factors, so that is 100% incorrect, so I asked her if the literature supported her opinion. She rolled her eyes at me and said she'd been an OBGYN for over 23yrs, and yes, I was going to "self-abort" my child by breastfeeding my oldest. Wow. It would be nice if your "health professionals" actually knew something about their field. What awful advice! I hope she didn't scare any other mothers into formula feeding for absolutely no reason. Good thing I don't blindly follow others. I breastfed my oldest throughout the pregnancy with no issues, because that's how it works unless you have crazy risk factors. Thanks, THD.

Don't go here if you follow a delayed vaccine schedule.
We follow a slightly delayed schedule that we have decided on under the care of my child's Dr.
I brought my baby in and asked for two vaccines. I was told she'd have to have three because it was already in the combo. I agreed to the three specified. When leaving I noticed the shot she was given actually contained 6 vaccines not 3.
I believe you should be fully informed what is being given to your child before hand.

Very clean and friendly people that work here. The online ordering for a birth/death certificate can be frustrating and if you call, the person that answers has a bad attitude. The other employees while going to pick the certificates up were very friendly and the wait wasn't long at all once they got my order ready. I wish they would go back to the pre-covid ways of letting you come in and buy a copy there.

I came here two months ago for my babies shots. Only wait was for paperwork, nurse was great. I just came again today to get my daughter her flu shot. I called at 3 and asked if we needed an appointment and the lady was very nice, said no appointments. HOWEVER, she did not tell me they stopped giving shots at 4. So when I got there at 4:05, the lady at the desk was very short with me. "We stop giving shots at 4, it's after 4 and we are doing inventory so you can't get it today, you will have to come back another time." I understand having to close early. But it should be noted on Google or at the very least by those who answer the phones. I just wanted a trip and pulled my daughter out of school early, counting a half a day absence against her, for nothing. I don't even get a note to excuse it because of this nonsense.
