Save A Lot - Lake City, Florida

I went to Save A lot yesterday thinking I would save some money feeding everyone on Christmas. I had a grocery list (items in cart) online at Walmart but decided to come here instead. As I was shopping I was looking at my cart to make sure I didn’t forget anything. Every single item I picked up was cheaper at Walmart, the most significant item being the hamburger meat. A 3 lb roll was a little over $16 when a 5 lb roll (same brand, ground chuck 80/20) was $17.93 at Walmart. One pound of ground chuck here $6.59 and at Walmart was $3.59. Some of the other items were portobello mushrooms here $2.19, Walmart $2.08. 3 lb bag of yellow potatoes here $3.99, Walmart $3.44. So I just went around the store put everything back, put the buggy up, and headed to Walmart.

Needless to say, Save a Lot really isn’t saving you anything. So for now on I will just stick to Walmart besides the store is way cleaner, has a bigger selection, and you don’t have to buy bags.LOL

So the next time you shop here just pull up your Walmart app and compare I couldn’t believe it was cheaper but it most definitely was even if it was just a few cents cheaper.

I was on the east end of town for an errand and decided to stop into Sav A Lot for canned biscuits and a package of country gravy mix. I found the biscuits right away, but had to go down several aisles before locating that particular gravy mix. Apparently the various gravy mixes are located near other items related to the type of gravy you mught normally use with that gravy. Different than what I expected. But they had what I needed. The store could use some updating/modernizing, and the parkung lot looks like it hasn't been maintained in years. There is a new Tractor Supply being built close by. Maybe it will encourage the property owner to do some updates.

Great prices and alott of familiar faces if you like to buy in bulk but still afford your child's college fund shop here same great quality as big brand stores but at a much cheaper price.

Not as big as I was expecting. It was clean and had items we were looking for. Employees were very helpful. Kind of in an out of the way spot but worth a visit.

Cleanliness isn't the best, I wanted some fruit but the fruit I wanted had mold in it. Most of the cashiers are nice however the one I had in the early am wasn't so friendly. Bad attitude. Good meat selection and everyone in the meat department is very helpful.

Grate food and always fully stocked shelves, the staff is very friendly and kind,my wife and I met A lady who works there and we just love her ,se was with my wife trying to help a lost dog in the parking lot as I cam out to put our food in the suv. I made 1 mistake that was I dint get her name 💔 .

Been coming for 35 years. I remember when this place was a safe way. No frills little food mart with extremely friendly employees. They have always been great. Has basically Everything you need at a good price….. except the meat. I know the employees can not help it. But the meat prices are outrageous. It’s just as much as Publix. Let’s be honest it is not the same grade of meat either. Nothing wrong with it, but it’s not grade A organic by any means. This store is in a very poor and elderly community. The owners really need to revisit their prices. I make good money and would not want to pay the prices for what you get. I also think it would hurt if some of the fresh meat items were in smaller portions
