Me and my kids are playing and enjoying the day after school by the hill near Southpoint Park on Roosevelt Island. Meanwhile, 10 feet away from them is a couple going at it in a burgundy Honda sedan right by children playing. Such behavior is unacceptable especially when public safety is called and they drive by them, doing absolutely nothing. I’m not even sure they slow down to check what was going on. This invites, more degeneracy onto the island. As a long time visitor of this beautiful place, we cannot have such things polluting the area. And it all starts with better enforcement of rules by the public safety. Red Honda license plate KJH-3979. Report them when you see them.

Train these public safety officers to not punch a person in the face, leaving a bruised black eye, while escorting the person to an ambulance for having a mental health episode.

I'm deeply troubled by the apparent targeting of specific groups by Roosevelt Island security personnel. It raises serious questions about fairness and impartiality in their enforcement practices.I've noticed a disturbing pattern where Uber drivers and hardworking individuals from Asia seem to be disproportionately targeted. This discriminatory behavior is concerning and suggests a potential bias within their approach. The question arises as to why these specific groups are singled out, creating an atmosphere of unfair scrutiny.Additionally, there seems to be an issue of racial profiling, particularly against brown individuals, by white security guards on Roosevelt Island. Such discriminatory practices not only undermine the principles of justice but also contribute to a divisive and hostile environment.Another point of contention is the apparent leniency shown towards private vehicles, even in the face of significant mistakes, while others are not granted the same courtesy. This inconsistent application of rules raises serious doubts about the integrity of their enforcement procedures and creates an atmosphere of unequal treatment.Addressing these concerns is crucial to ensuring that law enforcement on Roosevelt Island is fair, unbiased, and just for all residents and visitors, regardless of their background or occupation.

I was accosted by Officer Viel for walking my dog in the park across from my building. The first time, I was asked to remove my dog from the grass, which I did. The second time, I was informed that I needed to leave the park, for Officer Viel was under the assumption we were on the grass yet again. Spoiler alert: we were on the gravel. She was rude, dismissive and incredibly combative.

It gives me such confidence knowing our tax dollars are being funneled towards a department that spends its time patrolling the area for something so inconsequential as unruly pets and their owners. Thank you, Roosevelt Island Public Safety! A true bastion of public service, particularly with Officer Viel at the helm.

Public safety officer Ryan Kissoon, is the most disrespectful officer I’ve ever dealt with. He aggressively pulled me over by standing in front of my car. I had slid my NYPD PBA Card under my license and was told that “I don’t care who you know in the police department” and that “don’t give me that card unless I ask you for it”. How does this make sense? How would you know if I had a PBA card or not. He’s a sad excuse for a public safety officer and is not a good representation of the Roosevelt Island PSD

I got stopped by two cops today who were extremely rude. I was polite and calm. Save the attitude and go find a leadership and ethics book!

Pathetic. Slow response time. People are misbehaving and hitting people right infront of their office most of the time and they do nothing about it.
