Shameful service. Sad for me to say as I lived in Japan for 12 years! I’ve used their website for YEARS [in the US, when it was Ebates and of course in Japan for many things (travel etc)]. The US site is HORRIFIC. They tell you to forward receipts to them but then … the email is no longer working. I’ve been going round and round with them since … December. They take forever to respond and then don’t resolve the issue. This is SO CONTRARY to the ethos of customer service in Japan (which exceeds most people’s expectations… ). Clearly my own country can’t seem to manage decent customer service even when under the Rakuten name. So pathetic. When are you going to do right by your customers? I’d love to know …

If this isn’t resolved soon, I’m contacting the BBB and any other relevant authorities.

Should receive ZERO stars…..

Well, the reviews do not lie. It was all glorious in the beginning of what they call ā€œtrainingā€. We got catered lunch every day for the two weeks of training ( 8 days, as every Friday nobody was in office so we had to zoom to ā€œtrainā€) which was always nice to be fed and not have to spend money out of pocket daily. Well we were warned ahead of time by a dedicated employee on how Petty Rakuten employees are. And that employee wasn’t wrong. The training SUCKED. it was all over the place, basically just talking and having us all take ā€œnotesā€ as if we knew what we were taking notes of- as we had nothing to ā€œdummyā€ follow along with. Very stressful and hostile environment. We were ALL told by the GM one day when he popped in, that we were not just temps, but a temp to hire. They had positions they need to fill. That was a LIE. That was all a scam to keep us there, and work every holiday during their busiest time of year. One girl that was in a training group before me, said she was trained a WHOLE MONTH, and it was just her and one other person. But my group (hired on Halloween, only got basically 4 days in office training and 4 days on the floor of practice). Not one employee was friendly except 2 maybe two people I interacted with. Everyone was so serious, never smiled, didn’t make eye contact, nada. Well, after spending over $400 to work remote and never knew we needed to buy a monitor because all they gave us was a laptop to use when in order to work fast we needed TWO screens. Soo there’s that $$$ out the window. You would get called a ā€œnewbieā€ And treated as if you were being shunned. It’s very petty and you feel like your walking on eggshells. Well today they had one of their ppl zoom us each and let us go due to ā€œcompany needsā€ but yet was told ā€œ I hope you consider us next holiday seasonā€ lol after being told by the GM. It wasn’t just seasonal. I even was recognized for doing good twice! Fake AF and DISGUSTING management. Oh yeah, while in training, two managers came in to introduce themselves, and the one goes (as she’s leaning into the pole in the room with her arms crossed) ā€œI’m not introducing myself firstā€. THAT right there should have told me to leave. Poor poor management skills. Very high school pettiness. I would not recommend this place for any employment idc how desperate you may be. You get told to do one thing one way, trained one way, then told ten different things on how to do something by several different ppl including supervisors AND trainers. Wish I read the google reviews before wasting my time with this place and ruining my kids’ holidays. Thanks Rakuten of Beloit, WI.
Worse experience I have had at any employment. They deceive-this taught me to stick with my conscious.

Facilities team was super nice though! Thanks ladies!

I went in for an interview and this place is so backwards. they interview you as a group (too make it faster for them), and make you do all these email type ups. It was absolutely horrible. They then bragged about how high their turnover rate was. And how 75% would fail, 50% in the first month. I was offered the job and declined. No thank you. It doesn't matter how much food they have, I do not care about the food. It's nice, but making sure I have a job is better.

Everything started out great...I loved the work...not a problem. The people on the other hand had a personality of a wet mop! Very clicky...they don't get along to well with temps and will avoid conversation with temps at all costs. Yeah...there was free food...but when the atmosphere is as such...it makes for a bad environment. Very big lack of communication between supervisors, employees and agency on Ebates side. Better off working somewhere, where the people are friendly, and treat you like they would everyone else who works there instead of giving you dirty looks, and acting like high school children. Very unprofessional!

I have worked at different companies and I can confidently say that none come close to Rakuten. The moment you walk off the elevator you're greeted by warm smiles, great people and high-tech industrial architecture. This company has been built around meeting the needs of its members when it comes to customer satisfaction, but meeting the needs of its employees as well. The workplace focuses upon having happy employees and it truly shows. Rakuten provides meals catered by local restaurants everyday for its employees along with providing a full kitchen with everything imaginable and a cafeteria with gorgeous views, that is just the icing on the cake, Rakuten offers more than this, you will feel like part of a family here and more.

Being hired isn't just based on ability, if they don't "like" you, for whatever reason, you'll be gone
