This place is lovely. I’ve been wanting to go for years and recently my sister and brother in law came from Wales so this was the perfect time. Food is excellent, I had the full English and it was spot on. Only thing missing was fried bread and the black pudding could have been bigger. The freshly brewed tea was delicious. My brother in law got the steak and ale pie with the mashed topper and he loved it. Wife
Had the croque madame and she loved it. The other guests had French toast and they also loved their food. Definitely going back.

The atmosphere here is wonderful, and just screams cozy English pub. Our server was also great tonight and we never felt ignored or left wanting. But the food, god damn the food here is amazing. We split a scotch egg and curry wurst with the table, and both had great flavor. My only critique would be I wish there was more sauce on the fries. We finished with the Steak and Ale pie, crowned with mash and gravy, and it was just divine. Love that they have a beer selection from the UK as well. Can't wait to come back again.

Classic pub fare in a wonderfully cozy space, especially in the patio area. The curry chips are well spiced, the Scotch eggs delightfully runny and crispy, and the steak pot pie is pure comfort with its buttery, crisp crust and hearty beef filling. A satisfying and heartwarming meal.

I found everything about this place to be simply outstanding.

It shines through simplicity. Atmosphere, decor, the tables. The house plants spread throughout. It just puts you at ease as you walk in.

The staff is warm, welcoming. Everyone speaks with a softness and nonchalance. Just feels safe and familiar.

I ordered the royal English breakfast. I don’t know the history of the English breakfast, and I’m not gonna google it, but the way this plate is arranged in my opinion is very much intentional, and I really commend the cooking staff.

The English breakfast is great because although appearing very simple, it’s actually more than meets the eye. The contrasting textures and flavors is what’s so great about it. Savory, sweet, soft, crunchy.

It’s a reflection of what I believe the restaurant wants to impart on to its guest. Stop and enjoy the simple things in life. Like REALLY enjoy them, don’t just go through the motions.

Thank you for such a memorable meal. I’ll definitely be returning.

Great place for a quick dinner! My food came in a flash!!! My pie didn’t have as many pieces of beef as i would have liked but crowning the pie (adding mash and gravy) made up for it. The sticky toffee pudding is a must have as well.

This is one of my favorite places and it has been since they were serving out of walk in. Absolutely unique and creative menu - there’s really nothing that you can go wrong with here. Steak and Ale pie is of course the classic (always get mashed potatoes on top) but my personal favorite is the fried chicken sandwich - the pickles are so good, sauce is amazing, and the crisp around the chicken is soo so good. Also get the scotch egg - absolutely love.

Pleasant House Pub is a hidden gem in the heart of Chicago! I stopped in for brunch, and everything was fresh and delicious. I went with their famous meat pie (definitely worth the hype!) and paired it with a side of roasted vegetables. The pie was perfectly flaky and packed with flavor, and the veggies were a great touch. Spent about $20, which felt like a steal for the quality and portion sizes. The vibe is cozy, and the staff is super chill. If you want a laid-back brunch with great food, this is the spot!

The company I work for dined here for lunch and it was large party of us. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great and the service was good. This restaurant is pretty close to my job and will likely be a new favorite spot of mine. The mushroom and make pot pie crowned with mashed potatoes is a must have.
