I purchased the Afinia L502 and it has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences I have had in my business. From the start, the printer produced poor results. The top of each label printed fine, but the rest became increasingly grainy and uneven. This was a brand new unit, barely a few weeks old when issues began.

I spent months troubleshooting and comparing prints. I even received samples from the company I purchased the printer from. Their L502 printed the exact same design much cleaner and smoother than mine. You can clearly see the difference in the attached images. The smooth red label is from their printer. The grainy ones are from mine.

Afinia refused to acknowledge the issue. I paid $300 to ship the machine to them for testing using my own ink and my own labels. They claimed they replaced a belt, but when the machine came back the problem remained exactly the same.

When I raised this again, I spoke with their manager who told me “that is just how the L502 prints” and tried to justify the poor output by saying it is a different machine than the L301. That made no sense, because my older L301 still prints noticeably cleaner than the L502.

There was zero accountability and no proper solution. I cannot recommend Afinia based on this experience. The printer is now useless and I am forced to buy something else just to do proper client work.

I have three of their PF-Pro series printers and several of their largest CD/DVD Duplicators. Due to the volume of work these machines wear out. These knuckleheads take forever to process a repair requests, it is as if they don't want to help a returning customer, and when the item comes back there is no guarantee that it is actually fixed. I know this because I have had items return that exhibit the same problems & issues I sent them out with. Or they are broken and unusable straight out of the box. Honestly I would rate them a 0/5 if I could.

total crap. I have a G2 Disc Publisher which is a capital investment level piece of equipment (these cost well over $1000) and they are not even updating a driver for it to work with Windows 10. There answer to me: "Sorry, hope this doesn't cause you too many problems". What a joke. Keep that in mind before you purchase anything from them as they do not service their equipment software after a couple years, I guess its just to much for them to spend a few days writing a new print driver to keep their customers equipment running properly. I could not be more disgusted with a technology company. EVERYTHING else I have works on Windows 10, every company made new drivers to allow customers to move up to the new OS, every company except Microboards, LLC. Pathetic!
