We go to the Cotting School and today we went to the library. We researched different animals that we will see at the Stone Zoo. We advocated to the library staff, Peter and the other children's section librarian were very helpful. They pulled all the books that we needed, which was very kind. The building was very accessible, it had an elevator, door opening buttons and had plenty of space. The elevator was a little small, but we could fit 3-4 people, with 1 wheelchair at a time. The librarian let us use a separate space to do our research. The room was very spacious, had many chairs, was very peaceful and even had a piano. The sunlight was really pretty, there were many pictures on the walls and even sculptures.
The library is very clean and well stocked. The restrooms were big and clean, they could fit a wheelchair inside if need be. There were so many books there, that they had to give away some of the books for free. We loved getting to look through books and video games that were free and we were allowed to take them.
Everyone we saw at the library was cool, great and helpful. There was a play room, a seasonal display case that had an entire Halloween village in it and a scavenger hunt you could do with the village.
We went around 9:45am and it was quiet and not very busy at all. It was a really nice community trip and we highly recommend it. Overall we loved this trip!

Beautiful old library building with modern renovations. The wood paneled rooms with stained glass on the second floor are stunning. Definitely would spend hours reading here if I lived in Lincoln.

What a great library! Super-friendly and informative staff, and on the day I visited, clean and quiet. There were outlets most places I would have sat. Environment was nice with an antique feel to some areas (good thing). Only drawback was limited parking (which I guess is not so limited, once you're familiar with the place).

It’s a massive building with so much charm and the people who work there are fantastic and willing to help in any way, but…
There is no polite way to say that they’re never open. Literally. I know it’s a library but the hours of the place are extremely limited and short and sometimes it gives one the impression it doesn’t exist at all.

I love this library!! We moved to Lincoln in 2010 when my children were 7, 8, and 10 years old. We have spent so many hours enjoying this place. The people who work at the library are exceptional--from the children's librarians, who know everyone's name, to the front desk and reference folks.

If you need a professional staff ask for the director or the librarian at the reading room downstairs, they are empathic and treat you as a human being , they kind and helpful , they at the front desk tried to belittle you with their tone of voice if you are of other race other than white , non helpful and just mean in general , they feel like they are better than you , I was short 10 cents and she made me go in the car to get it for photocopy cause I did not have enough .
