Holdout brewing was a pretty cool place, with a big outdoor area they share with Better Half. The food at holdout brewing was actually pretty good. We hit the Sunday brunch and enjoyed it. The highlight was the Japanese pancake and fried chicken. Excellent! The hamburger and salad were both really good as well. As always, we love grabbing queso, although this queso was pretty thick. I liked the selection of some local beers and they do have some wine options although they’re not that great. The place is nice with some indoor seating, although everybody seems to gather outdoors. They have some TVs up for watching the games or other. Where holdout doesn’t come through is in their service time. The waits are so long before bringing out out order. It just took too long and then they forgot one of our orders and I had to wait 15 minutes longer for my burger. Overall, I give this place a thumbs up for ambience and food, but the wait is too long.

Cool vibe, feels like where the locals hang out. The food is good. We had Cotija and garlic wings as well as Thai PB&J wings very unique. We also shared a pretzel highly recommend the beers were good upstairs with sterile atmosphere downstairs and the beer garden was super cool the service lacked personality.

I had the thin mint cold brew, an americano, and two cakes. Everything was delicious. The cakes were particularly divine. I might not order the cold brew again, but I enjoyed it and found the concept intriguing. The atmosphere was also cool. I liked the large windows and how the trees were integrated into the design.

It is very popular, but there are lots of tables. Decent amount of parking in adjacent dirt lot. Several dog friendly covered areas, so you should be able to find a spot. The in doors is climate controlled and quieter, but basically a warehouse, not the inside of a restaurant. Food was good, but slow when busy. Fits my mold of what a brewery should be.

Stop #2 of Part 2 of my Austin brewing trip. Solid spot with delicious beer. It’s packed, clearly a local favorite. Parking and traffic are manageable—not the brewery’s fault—but I tend to prefer a more intimate setting.
