Not very useful as a “chamber of commerce”. There is little assistance for businesses, and the chamber meetings are almost useless as far as networking and business promotion goes (the meetings often consist of long speeches that don’t have much to do with business). Any “promotion” from the Cullman Chamber of Commerce is basically limited to them placing your business on their website. If you ever go to a meeting, you’ll notice that the vast majority of members aren’t there - because the meetings are pointless. Leadership has admitted that the main purpose of the chamber is to “hold events”. It’s the kind of organization that basically exists to collect fees to justify its own existence.

I was the court reporter for depositions held in the meeting room at the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce, and I was very impressed. The room setup and furniture were great, the bathrooms were convenient, and the parking was easy. It provided everything you could hope for to have a successful meeting.

Called and asked business formation specific questions like, "Do I need a county license or Certificate of Occupancy to operate a business out of my home?" and was told to call the BBB. Seems like more of a visitors center and much less of a "Chamber of Commerce".

Put Bates BBQ and cafe back in business on the northend of town and lower gasoline and diesel fuel price to 2.00$ a gallon it would make every thing better for the poor people! ?
