After spending a long day sitting at Urgent Care, I was tired and hungry. My husband and I stopped here for a meal on our way home.

We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door. We seated ourselves per protocol and waited for menus. Both the bartender and server were with customers. Both let us know one of them would be right over, which was fine. Those who were here ahead of us deserved their attention.

The first thing I wanted was an adult beverage. I ordered a coffee nudge and it did not disappoint. Many places deliver this drink lukewarm, or incorrectly made, despite my telling the bartender the ingredients. My nudge came to the table hot and perfectly made.

My husband does not drink. He ordered a strawberry lemonade and it was very good.

I ordered the BLT with fries. My husband ordered the Philly Cheesesteak dip with fries. Both items came up quickly and were hot and the fries were fresh.

Our server checked back with us a few times. She was attentive without being intrusive.

I gave the atmosphere 4 stars because the music was so loud, conversation was impossible. I realize this is a sports type bar, and this is normal. The music seemed louder than normal. The food is good enough I will go back for more meals.

I chose gizzards, and they were smaller than marbles and tasted terrible. Mom had clam chowder, wonderful. Nice waitress.
Don't think we'll be going back.
If you want great gizzards go to Summit Pub. A+

1st time in, and I was amazed how good the chicken wings and jojos were.

The service could have been better. Unfortunately, there was only 1 bartender working, and she had more than 20 customers in and out while I was there.

I felt like I was watching and participating in the reality show DINER DASH.

The place is clean and what you would like in a dive bar. Pool tables, music, TVs, and a beer garden.

Everyday has a different special also.

Top notch service and the wings were to die for!

Can't really say much more to be honest it's a bar atmosphere and food was delicious!

I ordered wings with jojo's, and potato salad. Everything was fresh and the wings were huge, cooked perfectly and super tasty!

My friend also ordered same as above, but different flavor of wings. He devoured his as well!

My other friend ordered this gigantic burger which looked delicious and was gone before we left so had to have been amazing!

This place is so good, the weekend servers and bartenders are the best. They’re so much fun and helpful. Great spot if you’re bored on the weekends, and Monday’s they have a $2 beer which is cool.i love this place for real

Good wings, good drinks and the dj is cool. The only downside is a weirdo customer or two here and there sometimes. Wouldn't recommend going there without a group of friends. Guys constantly try to grope women till I had to dump his drink on him because telling him to stop and 2 bartenders watching wasn't enough.

Grew up with the Kitchens Riley and Skyler. Their dad Steve who also owns the schooner ⛵️ is the owner and Skyler lives up north now, but you can catch Riley working in there. Me and my ex girlfriend use to go almost every weekend bar hoping Cassidys Blackstar and Lady Lucks Bar which is also a steakhouse, but you can get killer best in town appetizers that compare to 2121 tavern which is also owned by the Kitchens. They have pool tables table football and darts karaoke to a full all night dj that plays requests and great music with a dance floor. outdoor is right by the bathrooms and is covered for smoking, its pot friendly outside and they have table games even outside. They've been opened since Skyler and I graduated from Franklin Pierce in 2006 and have a full food menu including salads appetizers to burgers and pasta. It has a great variety of drinks including whiskey, vodka, draft beer, wines, and tequila. a full bar and booth and bar stool seating with multiple bartenders and cooks with sports always on the big screen HD tvs. Perfect for first dates, could be a anniversary night out, a weekday after work to watch some football and drink some pitchers of beer with the boys, or all girls night out with a safe security serviced mixed environment with bouncers at all doors. Definitely my favorite bar in Tacoma besides Jazzbones on 6th ave! 5 ⭐️ service at the Black⭐️ -BCole

Very good Pub & Grill here. Great service provided good value for 8 oz.🥩 Top Sirloin w/ loaded baker garlic toast & salad.🥗Also had house made chili. All made well and very fresh vegetables. Great work, Black Star.🏆In today's market you folks have won me over. We will return soon. 🎯
