We came in on Sunday as a party of two for a beer and lunch. I love their lagers-it was nice to have a pint and split a hot pretzel on a cold day. Their pretzels are huge-easily shareable. They are the perfect texture, and I love the mustards they serve with them.
We split a buffalo chicken sandwich complete with fries and pickles-they make an excellent, mouthwatering sandwich. I always like extra hot sauce on mine, but this sandwich has plenty of heat on its own.

Berliner is always a great place to relax, indulge and eat and drink as much as you like. What a chill place to get away from the chill of outside (or the heat)!

Always a good time here, we come here every few months for a date night and it’s the perfect place for any size of group.

The pretzel is a must get for us along with any of the sausages. However our favorite always end up being the smoked cheese sausage along with the bratwurst of course. The smoked cheese has such a good bite on it and the bratwurst has so many flavors and herbs packed in it.

We downed the food with the kolsch fruh beer (very light/ fruity) and the weihenstephan dunkel weiss (creamy and aromatic) which was our favorite of the two.

I really wanted to like this place but they bombed badly. Went in with a friend and we ordered beers, and for food, he a schweinhaxe and me a Jagerschnitzel. We waited a long time and no beers so we asked our server. She just looked toward the bar and walked off in the other direction, mumbling something. Later our food showed up. I was worried about my schnitzel because it looked like it had been in the fryer way too long. My suspicions were confiremed with the first bite. It's a good thing they provide sharp knives cuz that't the only way I was able to cut it. Cooked to death and tough as leather. It did not help that the only seasoning seemed to be in the breading, which tasted like overcooked salt. The pork had zero flavor, or less than zero if you consider the shoe-leather factor. My friend was disappointed by his schweinhaxe, but since I didn't taste it I won't comment further. Just about the time I gave up on my schnitzel the beers arrived and they were the highlight (only light) of the experience. I'll attach a couple pics of the schitzel. One from the menu and one from my plate. You can see in the menu pic that the gravy is dark and the schnitzel is golden brown. My schnitzel was so overdone that it was actually a bit darker than the gravy. It should have never left the kitchen. The whole time I was in there I was wondering where the manager was, because I'm pretty sure he'd have been clamping down on some of the things going on in there. Not. Going. Back. Edit, much edit. Same friend and I went back after a generous offer from the owner. It was a Friday night at 7 pm and the place was packed. We got seated promptly, our beer order taken soon after and the beers showed up in just a couple of minutes. Wait person took our orders as we were salivating over our un-tasted beers, then we proceeded to sip. Ahhh. Food arrived very soon thereafter, while we still had plenty of beer left to enjoy with the food. I had the shepherds pie and he had a bratwurst with sides, both of which were very enjoyable. The atmosphere inside is a lot like a Bavarian pub (I've been in many) with people crowded around talking, eating, drinking and having a good time. There are takeaways here. One, any place can and probably does provide an unacceptable experience from time to time, even a rock solid place like Berliner. Two, it's impressive when an owner steps in and owns a bad experience, and does their best to make amends. I take back what I said about not going back.

The food here is amazing. This is the closest thing to authentic German food that I have had in a while. A good selection of beer, great appetizers ( I recommend the pommes with curry ketchup), and a great variety of food. The staff is always friendly and are engaging. They had a limit run on the Reuben and I can't recommend it enough.

Probably the best restaurant in Renton! Food was excellent with friendly service. The Swedish meatballs were outstanding but a limited time menu item. Jager schnitzel is really good and the pretzel was outstanding.

Its been awhile since I went to the Berliner! It was a place I frequented with friends after work before COVID and we were excited to see that it reopened soon after. The place still had the lively vibe with a Bavarian feel to the place which was nice to revisit and the food is still authentic & delicious! Our server was wonderful too; she demonstrated a great knowledge for the menu & beer selection which helped some of our party out. Parking is either street parking or across the street in a public lot which is helpful! Recommend trying them if you haven't been and you find yourself in downtown Renton 🙂

I recently dined here with friends for my best friend's birthday. The staff kindly accommodated our request to show the UFC fight on TV, which was much appreciated. Despite the crowd, we enjoyed our evening. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The pretzel and meat and cheese tray were excellent. However, the cider was served in a bottle instead of a glass, unlike our previous visit. Additionally, the burger was served without sauce and was quite dry.

Pictures of the good food and cider 😁
