Visited March 27th..see receipt.
When I am in old Sacramento I try to fit in as much as I can because it's such a fun place to go to!

We went to the Bear and Crown because I really wanted a pretzel! Their pretzels are not the typical pretzel you would expect. It was a nice surprise to have a freshly made pretzel with perfect seasoning and served with 2 sauces. My boyfriend had the beer special and I had a glass of wine.

It's beautiful inside with oversized seating booths. The outside has more seating and even set up for corn hole.

The full bar is nice and the decorations make you feel you are in a British pub! They also sell items next door that remind you of England!

Leo was our server and he was very pleasant and attentive!

This is a classy yet warm environment!

The Beef and Guinness stew was very good. Lots of flavor. Steak Frites was good but had a bit of gristle. Fries were tasty. Really enjoyed the Noble Steed, bourbon, sweet vermouth, raspberry and chocolate bitters, what a treat. Service was very good and friendly. Not very loud so it was easy to have a conversation without having to yell.

We ordered the Scottish egg, beef stew, cottage pie and steak and fries. The Scottish egg was delicous, great flavor, crispy on the outside, the steak was tender and cooked perfectly with a nice char on the outside. It came with an herb butter. The best dish we had. We will come back just for the steak and the Scottish egg. Cool place, nice vibes, definitely a place you can enjoy a conversation. We tried the banoffee pie for dessert. Very creamy.

Food and service were great! I came in for lunch after a trip the to train museum with my family on a Sunday. My two kids (5&7 y/o) loved the burgers and fish&chips. My wife and I ordered a pub burgers that were very good. I also tried a side of biscuits and gravy and they were amazing. My mom ordered a salad and enjoyed it.

The environment was great and clean, NFL football and soccer were on the televisions, and I got $2 off a outstanding cocktail for having my Sacramento kings hat on during a Kings game day. We will definitely be back - Bear & Crown is definitely worth return visits and local support!

The only things redeeming about this restaurant are the location and decor.
They seemed unprepared for customers on a Saturday at noon.
We had a large party and two of the people at the table didn’t get their food for an additional 15min after everyone else at the table had been served.
The salads are pathetic. The French fries were sparse. The food overall was underwhelming.
The server was nice enough but didn’t bring things we asked for (extra plates, extra salad dressing).
Definitely do not recommend this place and will never return.

Service was great and food was excellent. I had the steak and fries. Perfect! For dessert I had the bread pudding with ice cream. Delicious! Great atmosphere.

Unfortunately, Bear & Crown was a disappointing experience. The atmosphere is dark and unwelcoming, and the menu offers only basic dishes.

The most frustrating part was the lack of flexibility with their “no outside food” policy. My daughter and I arrived later than the rest of our family friends, and because she was finishing a single slice of caramel apple, we were told she had to step outside to eat it before we could join our group. It felt unnecessarily rigid and unwelcoming.

Overall, not a place I’d return to, especially given the cold atmosphere and lack of hospitality.

New British Pub dining restaurant in Old Sacramento. Clean and spacious with an outdoor patio dining option. We tried the scotch eggs and fish n chips. Scotch eggs were very delicious. Not overcooked a nice starter. We shared a fish n chips 2 nice pieces of Cod and fries with yummy minted pea smash. Served hot n fresh was nice. Service friendly and attentive..we would definitely come back again. We saw a delicious looking Mac n cheese dish and a few interesting looking cocktails on their menu. Right on the main street of Old Sacramento don't pass on this spot.
