We've had the pleasure of touring the Astoria waterfront with Captain Mark and the Arrow 2 Tugboat three times. Each time we learn more about the history of the area from the very knowledgeable Mark. The boat is lovely with a large, comfortable interior space, bench seats and flushing toilet. When guests visit us in Astoria the boat ride is always a highlight of their trip. Highly recommended.

Took the tour last week and it was great. Our captain has a lot of experience and provides history and commentary. The boat is very clean and comfortable. We were very fortunate to see a bar pilot transfer both from a boat and helicopter (to a 650 foot car carrier transport).

Highly recommend.

My husband and I have visited Astoria a few times, but had never made it out on to the water. I came across Arrow Tugboat Tours in my planning, and it checked all the boxes for the experience I was looking for: Small group; safe, stable boat; and a toilet for my older sweetie. The tour absolutely exceeded expectations. Captain Mark and his assistant, Christian, were friendly and competent, and the boat was a beautifully restored piece of Astoria history. Mark shared a wealth of local history and information about what we were seeing, and even arranged an up-close viewing of a barge pilot exchange. We also got to explore the historic Pier 39 and the small, but charming, Hanthorn Cannery Museum prior to our tour. Wholeheartedly recommend this for anyone visiting Astoria.

What a terrific experience! The Arrow #2 is a beautifully restored tug and the views from the water provided a unique perspective on the gorgeous landscape and its wildlife.

My mother and sister and I took the tour on a lovely Sunday afternoon with perfect weather so I spent a lot of time on deck, but the temperature-controlled cabin was so cozy and comfortable that this experience would have been great even in rainy weather.

During the tour, we learned a ton about life and work on the Columbia, heard about Astoria history, and got to see a bar pilot transfer in action. We felt safe and comfortable onboard the whole time, thanks to Mark and Scotty who were incredibly kind and great to talk to—just good people. 10/10 recommend this awesome local business that provides an exceptional tour at a great value.

One of the most interesting, fun and unique tours ever! Mark, the skipper owns and has refitted Astoria with great passion and knowledge. He can tell you all kinds of interesting information about the vessel, her history, the waterfront and Astoria history in general. Well worth the fee and one of the best experiences ever!!!

We had an excellent adventure on the Arrow 2. The boat was in excellent condition and Mark was a great captain. He was personable and very knowledgeable about the area and it’s history. His slide show in the cabin was so informative. 5 stars just isn’t enough.

We absolutely loved this tour. So much fun to get out on the water, see the huge ships up close and learn about all things shipping and Astoria. Mark and his crew are so welcoming, informative and fun to hang with. The Arrow 2 was comfortable, warm and dry even with the rainy weather. We can’t wait to do this again!
