1st of all it's got quite the histroy. And although it's location has been through one hell of a lot of outsiders bullshit. The city has doubled up the efforts and have redeveloped the whole area. And it will soon be pretty nice. It's still safe as houses, because messes with Soundwave ever. And the studio offers small aspects of recording and rehearsals, with great prices and friendly staff. It's worth the effort 2 this Legendary time piece...

Al & the crew here are the nicest folks around! At the onset of the pandemic, I was able to rent the huge warehouse out back (the backlot) for ten days straight to record drums for my album! The recording has a quality to it that I will never forget snd is imprinted on the record forever. Not to mention, each room they offer comes with sound reinforcement & amplification, & you can rent them by the hour. I’ve rented from Al since his days over at what is now called the OMC- he is truly part of the musical tapestry of Oakland. Music in this city is what it is because of the kindness, dedication, and work Al and his crew have put in. I hope to rent from him again soon, and I hope this place never goes away. Thank you Soundwave!

Soundwave is a kool place to play your soul out ken is nice and his beautiful cats you can listen to all kinds of artists singing and playing them drums specially the guy David that talks allot keeps the lady intertain lol 😂 cuidado

Great People.Qhiet (lace with never a dull moment. A terrific place for rehearsals ,recording, business meetings and soon ,some of the best food truck fair and libations . Come absorb the chic and the cheeky sounds of some of the Bats most talented up and COMMING groups as they make their way forward , have a intimate gathering. Or a hosted community meet up. This business is friendly safe and accommodating. You can rent storage lockers for your equipment, find new inspirations from the ever interesting surroundings . Al is the most charismatic and diplomatic of business guys with an amazing sense of vision and his jovial and mercurial manner will not only motivate and inspire creative concepts ,but also put you and your party at ease and in the mood to make music make social change ,make a stab at community relations or social justice , or yearn to stay in the magic and the Atmozphere of West Oakland Originals ,who are the shamantic world that we all know as The Soundwave.
Come in, grab a lunch and a beer , rub elbows and be apart of the next level of the future thriving creative zone here, buy a T-shirt, pet some Wood Street Bengal cats that patrol these melodic nooks ,Granny's ,lofts studios and atrium. .parking is secure and people watching is free.
