I might be a bit biased as I work on site. It truly is an historical site. Make sure to watch looming and check out the chickens turkey and sheep. The trading post has everything including ice cream. Try the soaps as they are handmade.

Great little historic site at an early trading post for the Navajo. Churro sheep flock, lots of handwoven rugs, artist in residence, and yes, you can still buy things here. Trading post still operates. Well worth a visit, only 30 minutes North of I-40.

Hubble Teading Post is a must see and stop to understand more fully the Navajo people (Dine) and their journey following their "Long Walk" beginning in 1864 to Fort Sumner NM and their forced interment there. A Navajo weaver is on sight daily in the museum area. Hubble himself was quite the advocate for the Navajo in his day and help the Dine get back on their feet after the US Army destroyed their homeland and livelihood. A sad day in US history that can only be described as genocid of a great people, all because our government thought there was gold. Today, the Navajo Nation is a very Patriotic people despite the US history with them. You will find yourself well received in a warm environment. One of the best places to shop for Navajo art and their beautiful weaving in the rug room.

While on a road trip in this area in our camper-van heading from Fort Collins to the southwest we visited here. As the oldest continuously operating trading post in the American Southwest, it has significant historical significance for the history buff.

We participated in the guided tour of the Hubbell family home with a Park Ranger and saw the amazing collection of Southwestern Art and Native American Arts and Crafts. The home is furnished as it was by the Hubbell Family.

The NPS visitor center has exhibits about the Hubbell family, Navajo culture, the history of trade in the region, and the importance of sheep and weaving to the Navajo people.

Since 1878, this is the oldest continuously operating trading post in the American Southwest. Step back in time into its interior and shop the contemporary, authentic Navajo rugs and other southwest American Indian arts and crafts.
The NPS visitor center has exhibits about the Hubbell family, the history of trade in the region, Navajo culture, and the importance of sheep and weaving to the Navajo people.

The trading post itself is an interesting stop, but be sure to take the Ranger-led tour of the Hubbell home. The very informative and entertaining tour provides a valuable perspective of the family and trading posts.

Fantastic cultural experience and Keifer gave us the most informative and engaging tour
