I absolutely love this museum. I live locally and it wasn’t until recently I went in for my first visit. I met the owner who is truthfully the sweetest human ever, and you might not find someone who’s more passionate about neon signs than he is. The building and exhibits are not only wonderful but all the history and stories that go with it make the place 100x better. I would buy a year pass and go everyday if I could.

Visit happend on impulse, stretching our legs on a roadtrip! Starts off with a video, really cool to see, kind of a "How Its Made" type, fascinating!
Loved the tour, our guide was super knowledgeable on the niche subject of neon lighting. The presentation and displays were well done. Lots of cool vintage ephemera to view as well. Don't leave without a visit upstairs to the theater (or ballroom?). Lots more to see! Cute gifts shop, was able to pick up a few cool neon light cards to send to friends later. They even have a rotary payphone in the lobby! I picked up the handle but there was no dialtone. I was really tempted to give it a whirl because I have no idea when I heard the sound last! I was prepared for a lackluster, thrown together roadside pitstop, instead was presented with an interesting and informative experience!

As a person in the door and hardware industry it was really cool to see an older closer!

This nice little museum chronicles the progression of lit signage. Starting around the turn of the 20th Century with light bulbs and progressing into neon. I wish them success in getting the former Jantzen Beach carousel up and running.

Neon signs are an era of American History that isn't often explored. The amount of information packed into this space is phenomenal. Truly one of the coolest museums we have in the area right next to WAAAM in my book

Highly recommend!! Very informative tour by the owner who is passionate about everything neon and more. Was very surprised by the quality of the collection and the history provided. Had no idea neon signs have been around for so long. And it's not just the National Neon Sign Museum that is worth seeing in The Dalles. There are roughly 32 murals located throughout the town, other museums, hiking with petroglyph drawings nearby on the Washington side (accessed by a no toll bridge), and lots of restaurants and breweries. Downtown is safe to walk around with lots of historic buildings. I will be coming back for sure!
