Since the new ownership the newspaper has gone downhill rapidly. They're planning on charging subscribers $103.00 a year and now having the post office deliver! What about the carriers being out of a job in OR because of a Liberal CA Assembly Bill? I cry foul! I won't be renewing my subscription and I've been a subscriber for 26 years! I've called to complain and they don't seem to care that they're going to lose many subscribers.

The papers have a tendency to be dry, occasionally they get a good story once in a great while, but it's a possibility source of school sports news or political events. My parents have a twice weekly subscription and they are of a generation that enjoys newspapers while mine... Not so much, so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. It is however the only newspaper in Brookings.

After taking this paper since 1990, I gave it up. Little local news, just filler that they can get for free. So disappointing to see our local paper become nothing more than a liner for a bird cage. Even the classifieds had no organization. Another failed business in Brookings. When Charlie was the editor it was a great paper. He was replaced and it went downhill. It was then sold and became worthless.

I have done business with the Curry Coastal Pilot for more than 10 years and have seen their turnover with staffing. During this time I’ve had the pleasure working with some fantastic and not so fantastic Ad representatives assigned to my business account. 8 different Ad representatives throughout the years! I want to express I’ve had 3 I’ve truly felt has done professional and exemplary work with our account. Anne Ranney is one of those 3. I am truly grateful she’s been assigned to work with our business. Thank you Anne for always going above and beyond. It would be a disadvantage if Curry Coastal Pilot loses you. You are such an asset to their team!

Well, not much to say here. New owners are getting their footing in a new community for them. I suggest they offer a Digital Only Subscription at a reduced price. They might get back some lost subscribers, especially folks that have P.O. Boxes.

It used to be OK, your average small town paper, then a couple years ago they sold to a outside company, and now it's like the stories are wrote by people that don't even live here, not worth the cost any more, we will be cancelling our subscription after almost 20 years

Jane Stebbins is a hack at best. No fact checking, just scare tactics and hear say. Can't believe they let her put out the garbage that she has.
