Great food it tasted pretty stellar and im very impressed with the grub they offer its pretty sweet please go to the tavern I love the food amd the service is great. The music was pretty sweet and awesome. I got food from the kitchen and it slayed queen. I was born in texas and have lived many places around the country and this is by far my favorite restaurant i have found in my extensive travels. They offer some great variety auch as their barn jam sliders and the classic tavern burger. If i could have one complaint it would be that I cant stay there 24/7. 10/10 would eat the glizzy bear again. Please visit the tavern of you want to have a wonderful evening

New owners, old staff/new staff. Went there on a Friday evening (6pm ish). Immediately sat by the friendly host staff.
Received waters with in 8 min.
Fast service and pretty fast food!
Around 7 they got a lot more tables filled all at once and our service never lulled. Everyone was helping everyone it seemed.

Special was prime rib.
10/10 on those. Three of us got it and all of them were cooked properly and were delicious.
We also got bbq wings (10/10, not too small) and jalapeño poppers (8/10) (both just ever so slightly spicy).
One of us got a burger well done, was cooked properly also. Fries weren't over seasoned and were hot!

All of the desserts, because yes we got them all!, were awesome!
Our overall rating between the five of us was the chocolate cake though, was the best!
Horchata bites were very cinnamony if you like a little spicyness in the best way get those!

Prices were as expected since it's up by reservoir/ In mountains.
Overall super excellent and highly recommend.

Our server was a brunette like 5' 7'' with cute Indian made earrings and glass blown necklace. (I'm so sorry we don't remember your name).

SHARON is also the best person/bartender/staff there! So ask for her!

Food! Service! Atmosphere! It is the trifecta! Very competent warm staff serving a wide array of draft beers and wonderful mixed drinks! Food was so good you’d expect in Old Town Fort Collins or Denver. Great 2 page menu gave us allot of choices as well. We live 30 minutes away. We will definitely make the drive again!

Horsetooth Tavern is the only game in town - literally. If you are at the reservoir, or just travelling through, it is worth a stop.

LIVE MUSIC on a regular basis. Every musician I have seen has been well above par, or excellent. I have not made a Karaoke night, but it exists. I will assume the calibre of entertainer wanes when open mic is a thing.

The food is excellent. I tend to order the fish and chips, which despite being served in Colorado, a land locked state - is excellent. The kitchen listens and executes meals well, on time, and consistently.

The number of times I have been to the recently re opened tavern have all been excellent. Bring the dogs, they are OK on the porch. The staff are all animal lovers, as far as I can tell, so Bikers are also welcome and frequent the location regularly.

Cannot give the Tavern a high enough rating. The ownership cares and is making a go in the foothills of Colorado. Courageous in effort for sure. Give em a try, you will be back.

Another beautiful snowy day at the horsetooth tavern. My man and me love coming up here for the scenery, experience, service and food.portions are amazing and can tell it's homemade with love.

My husband and I had high hopes for this restaurant based on other reviews we'd read. When we arrived, we were uncertain if we were to wait to be seated or seat ourselves and despite waitresses/staff making eye contact with us, no one guided us on that (we tried to ask someone but they did seem pretty busy, so take that into consideration for the rest of this review). We saw 2 people come in after us and just sit down so then we just sat down. And then some other people came in and someone greeted them (and the 2 people who sat before us) and sat them at a table but no one came to us. Someone finally came by us and asked if we had been helped yet, to which we said no, and they told us someone would be by to help. Some time passed and that same person came by and handed us 1 menu and said they'd grab us another one. She didn't come by again. A different waitress walked by and asked if we'd been taken care of yet, to which we said no. She took our drink and food orders. It took longer than expected to get our drinks. My rum and coke was supposed to be in a short glass but was in a tall, and the coke was very very flat. The food took I guess an okay time to come out but neither of our sandwiches had the sauce that was supposed to come with it (despite me asking for extra sauce) so we had to send her back for that. Also, my husband's chips that came with his meal were soggy, for some reason.

The waitress who served us was very kind and seemed like she was having a bit of a rough day.. But we were still pretty disappointed in the food and drinks (not really her fault). Really hope it was just an off day for them.. But we don't have reason to go back and try this place again.

This place does a great burger! If you were around Fort Collins 15+ years ago and ever went to the old Washington's, its about like that. The outdoor patio is great, of course nice views. Staff was very friendly.
If you had visited here in the past when it was the Canyon Grille, give it another shot as the Horsetooth Tavern. Several years ago I went to the Canyon Grille and had a rather disappointing experience, between mediocre food and staff that seemed annoyed and borderline angry at me for not being there to drink.
Gone is the seedy biker bar atmosphere, the new owners have made this place into a real gem.
